Former Facility Inspector and Surgeon Dr. Joel Roskind to Set to Consult
Joel Roskind MD is retired from plastic surgery, but busier than ever extending know how gleaned from 30-year career to physicians and medical scholars. As a surgeon, Joel Roskind specialized in body enhancements, but he also made a point of getting multiple interests in the medical domain, giving broad expertise and perspective which he now plans to leverage as a instructor and adviser
Joel Roskind approaches medicine from a multidisciplinary and humanitarian perspective. Joel Roskind MD also served in the U. S. Navy as part of a three-man plastic surgery team, and during that time he traveled to Mexico to do surgery on disadvantaged children with cleft lips and palates.
He then joined the U.S. Navy and served as part of a three-man plastic surgery team. During that time, he traveled to Mexico to do surgery on deprived children with congenital deformities. Also during that time, he began his instructing career at the University of California, San Diego. He has gone on to teach at the Nassau University Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, Cornell Medical School and the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. He will now be instructing for the second time at Boston University School of Medicine.
Joel Roskind will also draw on his clinical experience to teach Integrated Problems at Boston University. The class will cover complex problems in differential diagnosis, a subject with which he is intimately familiar. Dr. Roskind also brings a wealth of knowledge in practice management, which deals with business aspects of medicine, such as hiring and training staff, setting up electronic systems and patient relations.
Making sure patients get the best possible care in the soundest possible environment has been a priority for Dr. Joel Roskind throughout his medical work. Although he is retired from active practice, Dr. Joel Roskind is looking forward to continuing to contribute to the medical domain. In addition to lecturing and consulting, Joel Roskind MD also plans to pursue a long time personal interest in Judaic spirituality.
